Brașov's old town at your doorstep
From Piața Sfatului to the Tâmpa cable car, the best of Brașov is a few steps from our apartments. Here’s what’s waiting for you.
WHAT TO SEE
Everything within a short walk
The best of Brașov, all within walking distance.
Piața Sfatului
The heart of the old town, ringed by colourful merchant houses and dominated by the 15th-century Council House. Full of terraces in summer, home to the Christmas market in winter.
Free to enter, at any hour.
The Black Church
The largest Gothic church in south-eastern Europe, built between 1383 and 1477. The name comes from the fire of 1689. Inside: the Buchholz organ and a rare collection of carpets.
Tickets: 30 RON adults · free under 7
Strada Sforii
One of the narrowest streets in Europe — under 1.3 metres at its tightest point. It was built as a firefighters’ access route. Today it’s everyone’s favourite photo stop.
Five minutes, free to enter.
The Old Town
Pedestrian streets lined with pastel houses, arcades and terraces. This is where the city walks in the evening, and where every direction leads you back to Piața Sfatului.
Free to walk. Busiest between 18:00 and 22:00.
The White Tower
A 15th-century medieval bastion set on the heights above the old town. The White Tower offers one of the best views in the city, without needing the cable car.
Reached by steps — a short climb, but a steep one.
Tâmpa
You climb to roughly 960 metres in under three minutes. At the top you get the full panorama of the city and, five minutes along the path, the “BRAȘOV” letters.
Lower station: Aleea Tiberiu Brediceanu, in the pedestrian zone.
